Eighteen Endings for Chrono Trigger

We hope this adds to your enjoyment and replay value of Chrono Trigger. Most of these endings can be reached if you beat the game normally and then choose "New Game+".
The Lavos Gate is found in Leene Square, 1000 AD, in the right telepod. It only appears in a New Game+.


  1. Complete Ending 1: defeat Lavos by going through the Black Omen or Epoch when all of the Guru of Time's quests are completed; save Crono and do not kill Magus.


  2. Complete Ending 2: defeat Lavos by going through the Black Omen or Epoch when all quests are completed; Save Crono and kill Magus.


  3. Standard Ending 1: defeat Lavos by going through the Bucket; save Crono and do not kill Magus.


  4. Standard Ending 2: defeat Lavos by going through the Bucket; save Crono and kill Magus.


  5. Grand Ending: defeat Lavos by going through Lavos Gate, killing Magus and not getting Crono back.


  6. Super Grand Ending: defeat Lavos by going through Black Omen or Epoch, killing Magus and not getting Crono back.


  7. Minimum Ending: defeat Lavos by going through the Bucket the first time you reach the End of Time.


  8. Frog Ending: defeat Lavos by going throught the Lavos Gate at Leene Square as soon as you get back from 600A.D for the first time.


  9. Nu Ending: defeat Lavos at the Ocean Palace or go through the Lavos Gate after you emerge from Heckrans Cave.


  10. Tata Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you defeat Zombor and before you get the Hero Medal.


  11. Magus/Crono Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you get the Hero Medal.


  12. Character Review Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you return from 65,000,000 B.C for the first time.


  13. Masamune Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you give the Masamune to Frog but before you defeat Magus in 600 A.D.


  14. Reptite Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you have Ayla back in your party.


  15. Magus vs. Lavos Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you defeat Magus but you must defeat him before Schala opens the seal in Zeal.


  16. Lucca/Marle "Guy Review" Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate after you defeat Magus and after Schala opens the seal.


  17. Programmers' Ending: defeat Lavos through Lavos Gate at the beginning of a New Game+.


  18. Failure Ending: get killed by Lavos.
